There’s a lot of buzz these days about manifesting… how to do it, when to do it, who can do it… but manifesting our desires really isn’t such a new idea. Some people have been doing it for years.

The stories in this book will help you see it CAN be done and believe that YOU can do it, too.

I was taken by surprise when a friend told me that I am a master at manifesting, and it was some time before I allowed myself to accept this as a true statement.

When I look back over my experiences in recent years, I am astounded to realize that I have intentionally created wonderful results in so many areas. I have met and married my soulmate, relocated to sunny Florida, and eliminated a mountain of debt. As I write this book, I am fulfilling yet another dream – to share with others this wondrous ability we all have to consciously create our life experience.

My intention for writing Butterflies and Dreams is that you will see yourself in one of the stories and decide that it is possible for you to follow your heart and, with unbending intention, create a life that you love.

This book contains stories about manifesting drawn from my own experience, as well as tales from others about wonderful achievements in their lives. These stories address many aspects of life, including relationships, finances, fulfilling dreams, and facing life challenges. I hope that as you read this book, you will find a story or an idea that will set in motion your innate ability to manifest your heart’s desires.

The final chapter is dedicated to the actual Process of Manifestation.

Do you love your work? Is it rewarding? Are you receiving the salary you desire? If your answer to these questions is “no,” you may be ready for a change. The process of manifestation can support you in your quest. Begin by setting an intention; next, see yourself in your new job; and then take action to achieve your vision. Just as the butterfly develops by eating, growing, resting and molting, we, too, move from one experience to the next as our life unfolds. In this chapter are stories from people who have stepped out of their comfort zone and taken action to achieve their dreams.

I’d like to tell you a family story that illustrates achieving a career goal. While it may not take you many years to achieve your goal, it may take determination, commitment and overcoming life challenges as illustrated in this story.

In May 2006, my son graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering. This may not seem extraordinary at first glance, but in our family we were busting with pride. Ken had been working toward his degree for 13 years. During this time, he took evening classes while balancing full-time work, being a single parent, meeting and marrying my daughter-in-law, and having two more children. I asked Ken how he was able to accomplish getting his degree. He said, “I always kept my eye on the goal.”

My Career in Medical Records
by Dorothy Peltier-Fanchi

In 1996, I started a new career in medical records. This unexpected opportunity presented itself in an unusual way. At the time I was working as the office manager for the executives of a large health care corporation in St. Louis. The task before me was to schedule interviews for the position of Medical Records Coordinator. This position had been open for several weeks and still had not been filled. While I found my work as office manager fulfilling, I was ready for a change. I had been thinking about what career would use my skills and give me a renewed sense of joy and accomplishment in my work.

On this particular morning, a new thought came to me: “Would I like the medical records job for myself?” Something inside me got excited. I decided to ask about the responsibilities of a medical records coordinator, the salary and what new opportunities might open up if I applied for this position. Every answer confirmed for me that this was the right next step for me to take. I accepted a generous offer and started my career in Medical Records.

In 2001, another major change took place in my life. It began in February of that year, when I visited Sanibel Island off the coast of Ft. Myers, Florida. I was treating myself to a one-week winter respite from the snow and cold weather in St. Louis. It had always been my dream to live where it was warm year around, and I thought that “some day” I would do that. In February 2001, I decided that “some day” was now. I did not want to wait any longer to fulfill my dream. I promised myself that if I found a job and a place to live I would go for it.

And so I returned to St. Louis and my work in medical records, leaving my heart on the white sandy beaches of southwest Florida. My intention was to relocate by the 1 st of June.

The first thing that happened was finding a place to live. A friend offered me the use of her condo when I arrived in Naples. The condo was in Pelican Bay, a very beautiful community on the Gulf of Mexico.

Next came my search for work. Using the Internet to research job opportunities, I began contacting employers and faxing my resume. I had four interviews confirmed when I scheduled a trip back to Florida to meet with these companies. However, a job offer did not come from any of these, but from a beautiful senior complex called Moorings Park. They had said, “Just come in while you’re here and fill out an application.” This turned into the best interview of all and the job offer I accepted. And, you guessed it – their open position was for a Medical Records Coordinator. I relocated in late May of 2001, less than four months after I had declared my intention.

Continuing my work in the Medical Records field gave me another unexpected blessing. It allowed the bank to approve my mortgage. I now own a beautiful home in Naples, a place I consider to be a little corner of heaven.
